Hong Kong-Singapore Air Travel Bubble: What You Need to Know

If you’re currently in Hong Kong or Singapore who wants to travel overseas, here’s some good news: with the HK-SG Air Travel Bubble (or ATB), you can take a quarantine-free trip to either Singapore or Hong Kong starting November 22nd! Here are some details:

  • No restriction to travel purpose or itineraries! Unlike many ATB’s between other countries that allow traveling for business, humanitarian, and official reasons only, the Hong Kong-Singapore Air Travel Bubble will have sightseeing and leisure trips!
  • No quarantine arrangements upon arrival. Visitors only need to get tested for COVID-19 in the airport after landing!

If you want to take advantage of this Air Travel Bubble, then take note of the following:

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • In the last 14 days before your departure flight, you should have no travel history to any country except for Hong Kong or Singapore.
  • You must test negative for COVID-19 before departure and upon arrival.
  • You should travel by designated flights only.

Note that the ATB is open to any person currently in Hong Kong or Singapore without regard to nationality.

Participating travelers must undergo the COVID-19 PCR Nucleic Acid Test with specimen collected within 72 hours prior to departure from Hong Kong or Singapore.

2. Designated Hong Kong-Singapore ATB Flights

Here are the designated flights that will be available starting November 22:

3. Process

Here is the basic procedure for Singapore-Hong Kong ATB Travelers, as outlined on tourism.gov.hk:

  • Apply for visa, if needed
  • Purchase ticket for a designated flight
  • Undergo COVID-19 test before departure.
  • Submit your Health Declaration online.
  • Reserve your post-arrival COVID-19 test.
