Where to Go on Valentine’s Day & White Day in Seoul
While Valentine’s Day is spent a bit differently in South Korea, such that the ladies prepare chocolates for the gents (and, in turn, the men make the same gesture a month after or what’s called the White Day), many couples still celebrate the occasion like everywhere else. If you’re thinking about doing something sweet for your special someone, whether that’s on February 14th or March 14th, here are some special courses that we recommend in some of the most romantic areas in Seoul:
1. Yeouido Date Course
Valentine’s Day in 2021 falls on a Sunday (right after the Seollal holidays), so, most likely, you’ll have the entire day to spend with your date or partner. You can spend your day in the iconic 63 Building in Yeouido, which houses two attractions that are suitable for couples: Aqua Planet 63 & 63 Art.
Aqua Planet 63 is an aquarium visited by many couples all year round. Here you can spot cute otters, spend time with adorable penguins, and take a snap with seals. Aqua Planet 63 also has a dreamy tunnel and scenic tanks that house various fish, stingrays, and sharks for you and your special someone to enjoy!
After visiting one of the best aquariums in Seoul, you and your date can head up to 63 Art, which is the highest art gallery in the world. The attraction is currently holding its Museum of Colors exhibit, which depict various elements that local artists associate with various colors. (The exhibit opened on December 2020 and will run until August of this year.) Make sure to take a photo in the Red and Pink rooms for the perfect Valentine’s Day photo!
For a romantic dinner, you can go to 63 Buffet Pavilion, which is also located in 63 Building. Here, you can enjoy a premium buffet experience and have succulent steak, lamb chops, sushi, sashimi, crab legs, cakes, and more! The weekend/holiday rate for 63 Buffet Pavilion is ₩92,000 per head, but you can book it on WAUG here for only ₩82,800! (New WAUG users get extra ₩3,000 discount coupon upon sign-up. 🎉)
2. Myeongdong Date Course
How about visiting N Seoul Tower on Valentine’s Day or White Day? The attraction, which earned its nickname as a romantic “island” in Seoul, is definitely one of the best places to visit for both occasions. From Myeongdong Station, you and your date can walk up to the Namsan Cable Car Station and take a cable car to the iconic landmark of Korea. Make a pit stop at the Locks of Love before you make your way to the N Seoul Tower Observatory to enjoy a nice view of the city skyline.
TIP: Since Valentine’s Day in Korea falls right after the Seollal holidays in 2021 (Feb. 11-13), you may also want to visit Hancook Restaurant to eat the traditional Rice Cake Soup! Learn more about this offer here.
After spending time in the N Seoul Tower complex, have a relaxing massage date in Myeongdong. Recharge and refresh your senses with your beloved at CheongKwanJang Spa 1899 Myeongdong, which offers various facial and body treatments using their special Red Ginseng! You can learn more about the spa here, or click below to make a reservation:
For an excellent Valentine or White Day dinner in Seoul, visit La Table in ibis Ambassador Myeongdong! The restaurant, which is located on the 19th floor of the hotel, offers 5-6 course meals that are prepared to impress. Enjoy a special BBQ platter with fresh bread, appetizers, dessert, and beer!
3. Hongdae Date Course

Consider booking one in Hongdae, which has tons of premium yet affordable options like RYSE, Autograph Collection, Holiday Inn Express Seoul, and L7 Hongdae by Lotte. After checking in your accommodation, visit The Dam Korean restaurant in Seoul, which is named as one of the best dining spots in the capital. Here, you and your Valentine can enjoy a sumptuous fusion Korean dinner course, which consists of roasted abalone, grilled scallops, ginseng pork, and more!
After your nice Valentine’s Day or White Day dinner, how about having a night cap at Floating, a nice bar in L7 Hotel by Lotte?
