My Honest Review for First-Time Visitors
If you’ve been planning a trip to Osaka,
you’ve probably come across the Osaka Amazing Pass.
It seems like the perfect way to save on transportation and attractions, right?
That’s what I thought, too—until I discovered the Osaka e-Pass.
In this post, I’ll share why I ended up choosing the e-Pass instead,
and why I think it’s actually the better option for most travelers.
The Problem with the Osaka Amazing Pass

Let’s be real.
The Amazing Pass sounds great on paper—
free subway rides, free entry to tons of attractions.
But here’s the catch:
you feel like you have to rush all day just to get your money’s worth.
You end up planning your day around the pass, not your trip.
And that’s not really how I like to travel.
Why I Loved the Osaka e-Pass Instead

The Osaka e-Pass doesn’t include transportation,
but that’s exactly why I liked it.
I didn’t feel pressured to check off a million things in one day.
I could just pick a few places I really wanted to see,
like the Umeda Sky Building or the Dotonbori River Cruise,
and enjoy my day at my own pace.
Plus, it’s way more affordable:
– Osaka Amazing Pass: ¥2,800–3,800
– Osaka e-Pass: ¥2,000–2,500
Even after paying for a couple of train rides,
I still saved money.
What’s Included with the e-Pass?

Here are just a few of the top spots you can visit for free:
– Umeda Sky Building Observation Deck
– Dotonbori River Cruise
– Tsutenkaku Tower
– HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel
– Tennoji Zoo
Honestly, these were the highlights of my Osaka trip.
Is It Right for You?

If you’re planning to stay in central Osaka,
and you’re not planning to take tons of subway rides,
the e-Pass is perfect.
It’s also great if you prefer a chill, no-rush itinerary.
