Planning a trip across South Korea? If you want to explore beyond Seoul and visit exciting cities like Busan, Gyeongju, Gangneung, or Jeonju, the Korail Pass is an absolute must-have for foreign travelers. With this special rail pass, you can enjoy unlimited rides on Korea’s high-speed KTX trains, regular trains, and scenic tourist trains—making it one of the most convenient and cost-effective ways to travel around the country.

The KTX (Korea Train Express) is the fastest and most efficient way to travel between major cities. In just about two hours, you can journey from Seoul to Busan, Korea’s vibrant coastal city known for its beaches, seafood, and urban charm. Whether you’re planning to visit the historic temples of Gyeongju, the snowy mountains of Gangwon-do, or the cultural alleys of Jeonju Hanok Village, the Korail Pass gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace.

There are two types of Korail Passes available: the Select Pass and the Consecutive Pass. Each offers a different level of flexibility to suit your travel schedule.
The Select Pass allows you to choose either a 2-day or 4-day ticket and use it flexibly within a 10-day window from your first ride. This option is perfect if you want the freedom to space out your travel days instead of traveling back-to-back. For example, if you begin your journey on January 2nd, you can take your next train on the 4th, and then again on the 7th and 11th—all within the allowed 10-day period. Do keep in mind that once you’ve used a Select Pass, you cannot repurchase the same type until 10 days have passed from your first use. If you need to travel again during this time, you’ll need to choose a Consecutive Pass or wait until the restriction period ends.

On the other hand, the Consecutive Pass lets you enjoy unlimited rides for a fixed number of consecutive days—either 3 or 5 days—starting from your first ride. This is ideal for travelers who want to make the most of a short trip and visit multiple cities in one go. Imagine waking up in Seoul, spending the afternoon in Daegu, and having dinner in Busan, all within a few days. With the Consecutive Pass, that’s entirely possible.

Please note that the Korail Pass is exclusively available to foreign nationals and cannot be purchased by Korean citizens. It’s a special offering designed to help international visitors experience the diversity of Korea’s regions with ease and comfort.

Ready to embark on a cross-country adventure? Get your Korail Pass, plan your route, and start discovering the charm of Korea—one train ride at a time.

Happy travels!
