Kervan in Itaewon: Most Beloved Turkish Restaurant in Seoul
When it comes to Turkish food in Korea, Kervan is clearly the standard. With more than 10 outlets in and around Seoul (they have a bakery, too!), the brand has become a household name. We visited their elegant flagship branch in Itaewon, and got their lavash, chicken shish kebab, lamb shish kebab, testi, and guvec sets — the most popular items on the menu.
But before we talk about the food, let’s first take a look at what Koreans, foreign residents, and tourists had to say about Kervan in Itaewon. Here are some reviews from WAUG users who booked the 2-person sets of this Turkish restaurant:

Personally, what I liked in Kervan is their mixed barbeque kebab set, the most popular menu item. It’s a combination of juicy marinated meats that are served on a copper plate. The set came with soup, bread, lavash, and drinks (instead of cola, you can have ayran), which we found very satisfying. I’d also recommend getting the testi or the pottery kebab, which is a hearty stew that’s perfect for any day.
To sample the great stuff on Kervan Turkish Restaurant’s menu, do get any of their 2-person or couple sets (especially if you’re already plan to get appetizers and drinks). And no, you don’t have to be a couple to dine in!
1. Mix Barbeque Kebab Set
This is a combination of tender chicken, beef, and lamb kebabs, served with fresh lavash. Definitely a platter you can’t go wrong with!
The mix barbeque kebab set costs ₩62,000 or $53, but you can book it below for only ₩55,800 or $49! (If it’s your first time to book on WAUG, then you’ll get an extra $3 or ₩3,000 off!)
2. Pottery Kebab Set
Testi or pottery kebab is an Anatolian specialty made with beef, vegetables, and herbs. This is a stew that’s prepared in a rustic clay pot or jar (the word testi actually means jug), allowing the meat to cook slowly. I really like this dish because it’s got that perfect meaty flavor that really sticks. My mother wishes she knew how to make Kervan’s testi!
You can get the pottery kebab set below for only ₩58,770 or $51.7, from the regular price of ₩65,300 or $56!
3. Casserole Beef
Guvec or Đuveč is comprised of beef, tomato, and other vegetables that are slow-cooked in clay casserole. Similar to testi, you can really taste the juices of the ingredients. Kervan’s guvec tastes really homey and great, but I’d still go for the bolder flavors of their testi.
Book the guvec set below for only ₩53,820 or $47.4 (regularly priced at ₩59,800 or $51).
4. Casserole Lamb Chops
If you’re craving for some Turkish lamb chops or pirzola, then stop reading now and make your way to Kervan! My colleague who got this dish instantly fell in love with the tender and herby meats, which were served in good portions. If you’re a big meat lover — trust my friend — you can definitely finish this by yourself. It’s that good.
The standard price of lamb chops set is ₩68,700 or $59, but you can book on WAUG below for only ₩61,830 or $54.4!
5. Kervan Special Course
Kervan’s special set comes with 13 menu items, including — ready? — soup, bread, salad, lavash, lahmacun, fries, chicken shish, beef kofte, lamb shish, kuzu pirzola (lamb chops), Adana kebab, dessert, and turkish tea. Like the first 4 sets above, this special course can be ordered by 2 people. However, it’s also available as a 3-person and 4-person set, which is perfect for friends and family. (If you’ll visit Kervan in Itaewon as a group of, say, 7, then you can get a set for 3 people and a set for 4). Definitely the best way to sample the popular food in Kervan for less money!
|Special Course||Regular Price||Discounted Rate|
|Good for 2||₩89,000||₩80,100|
|Good for 3||₩121,000||₩108,900|
|Good for 4||₩145,000||₩130,500|
